via (CNN) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday blamed the “two oil men in the White House,” President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, and their Republican allies in Congress for gas prices exceeding $4 a gallon.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she does not plan to permit a vote to lift a ban on offshore oil drilling.
Pelosi, a California Democrat, said multiple initiatives intended to lower high energy costs have passed the Democratically controlled House only to “run into a brick wall” in the Senate because they did not receive the 60 votes needed to overcome Republican filibusters.
“The price of oil is… is attributed to two oil men in the White House and their protectors in the United States Senate,” Pelosi said in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. Complete article

As a registered Democrat, I agree that the Bush administration is a total failure. However, you don’t have to be a Democrat or a politician to figure that one out. On the other hand, Ms. Pelosi and her cohorts have accomplished ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! She’s putting America back to work and ending the war? Who is she kidding? Congress/Senate, etc are incompetent and if they were all in the private sector, they’d be gone by now. Hopefully she and the rest of the idiots in Washington are better parents than politicians or this country is going to go down the toilet. It’s time to get rid of all the career politicians and start again with strict term limits. Let them pay for their own healthcare and pensions like the rest of us. Americans hate Washington because they haven’t given us any reason not to.
Anything that dithering self-important Nancy Pelosi is into is a turn off to me, and probably a turn off to the other 87% of Americans who are disgusted with this congress. Why doesn’t Pelosi listen to the 76% of Americans who want off shore drilling ASAP? Did she forget that we live in a democracy, and that she is merely an elected official, who is supposed to respond to the will of the people.
