In November 2006, then gubernatorial candidate Sarah Palin declared that she would not support an abortion for her own daughter even if she had been raped.

Granting exceptions only if the mother’s life was in danger, Palin said that when it came to her daughter, “I would choose life.” At the time, her daughter was 14 years old.

Now three years later, John McCain’s running mate, Gov. Palin’s daughter is five months pregnant.

The 17 year old daughter, Bristol, plans to marry the father, McCain’s campaign advisers said.

In a statement, Mrs. Palin said: “Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows that she has our unconditional love and support.”

The announcement was intended to counter rumors by liberal bloggers that Mrs. Palin had claimed to have given birth to her fifth child in April when, according to the rumors, the child was her daughter’s.

The McCain campaign says it was aware of her daughter’s pregnancy before it named her as the running mate on Friday.

Women Jailed For Kissing

It was reported this weekend that a Lebanese woman and her female Bulgarian companion have been jailed for a month for kissing and fondling each other and engaging in “indecent acts”on a public beach in Dubai. The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the one-month jail sentence handed down by a lower court to the women, a 30-year-old Lebanese national and a 36-year-old Bulgarian who both pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors had charged the women with kissing, groping each other and “indecent acts in public,” the 7Day paper said, adding that this was the first case of its kind in the United Arab Emirates, a federation of seven states including Dubai.

According to police reports, the two women were seen being intimate with each other on Al-Mamzar public beach between Sharjah and Dubai in April.

They will be deported after serving their sentences.

Even more disturbing is that earlier this year two women here in America, “Land of the Free” were asked to stop kissing at a Seattle baseball game or be thrown out.
